The 62nd Housey's Rapids Picnic

The 62nd Annual Community Picnic is upon us—a beloved tradition that continues to bring together friends, families, and neighbors for a day filled with fun, games, and connection.

  • ‍When: Saturday, July 19, 2025‍
  • Where: Bass Lake Park
  • ‍Time: 1:00pm — 5:00pm‍

Over the years, we’ve welcomed families who have attended every single picnic, as well as many new faces who quickly become part of the tradition. This annual gathering would not be possible without our dedicated volunteers and the ongoing support of the Kahshe and Bass Lakes Association (KBLA), which helps cover the cost of park permits, children’s prizes, and ribbons. We’re also grateful to Muskoka Meats, our long-standing BBQ supplier of sausages and wieners.

Here’s what’s planned for this year:

  • Races and games for the little ones
  • More challenging activities for the older kids
  • The ever-popular horseshoe tournament
  • A community-wide Toss the Water Balloon game
  • The classic Tug of War
  • The high-energy “Bucket Brigade” (a Keith Price special)

Throughout the afternoon, KBLA volunteers will keep the grill going, and the day will wrap up with the always-anticipated “pick-your-own-prize” draw.
