Feedback Summary

Boating and Water Safety

Concerns were raised regarding wake boats, personal watercrafts, and the need for more OPP presence on Kahshe Lake to enforce boating safety. There's a desire for more regulation and education for owners of wake boats.

Environmental Concerns

Feedback highlighted the need to encourage people to avoid lawns between cottages and the shoreline, address the green-blue algae situation through education on what people can do to prevent it from occurring, and inspect and remove debris from the Plug Dam at the south end of Grants Bay. There was also concern about encouraging development on the lake due to its potential detriment to lake quality.

Community and Volunteer Engagement

Several responses emphasized the need for more volunteers, thanked existing volunteers for their hard work, and suggested encouraging new membership while maintaining current fee levels.

Infrastructure and Access

There were suggestions to support road access to cottages on the mainland to reduce boat traffic and improve emergency services, and to see the Town improve North Kahshe Lake Road. There was also a request to ensuring proper public docking for boats and cars.

Communication and Education

Respondents expressed a desire for improved email communication for upcoming events, more education for residents about garbage rules and how to prevent green-blue algae, and a need for the association to repost town news.

Suggestions For Improvement

Communication improvements

Suggestions include push notifications for fire ratings, regattas, and events, and a website section for building permit variances to inform members of the association's objections.

Specific issues to address

Concerns were raised about impaired driving on the lake, garbage on the beach, and the use of lead sinkers.

Administrative and branding suggestions

Ideas included redoing the KBLA logo

Positive feedback and no specific improvements

Many responses expressed satisfaction with the current work or had no specific suggestions for improvement at this time.

Volunteer-related comments

One past volunteer shared their past contributions and expressed not being interested in certain volunteer roles, particularly regarding banning boat types.
