Marnie Cryderman, the current President of the KBLA, is a dedicated advocate for preserving the cherished Kahshe and Bass Lakes community.
With a deep commitment to continuing the association's century-old tradition, Cryderman brings passion and experience to her role. Since joining in 2018 as the Rockmarker Chair, she has immersed herself in preserving lake health, fostering community, and organizing events that unite Kahshe/Bass Lakers. Marnie's leadership is defined by attentive listening, a dedication to answering community concerns, and an unwavering recognition of the lakes' significance. As President, she upholds the KBLA’s legacy of advocacy and unity, ensuring Kahshe and Bass Lakes remain a cherished cornerstone for all.

Favourite Lake Memory
We inherited many white plastic outdoor chairs when we took possession of our cottage. During a particularly blustery day, one of the chairs went into the lake and quickly sank, unknown to us. My husband was fishing off our dock one day when he was certain that he had caught the "big one." You guessed it — up came a white plastic chair. On the bright side, we were glad to get the chair out of the lake!
President
The President shall be a director of the Association and shall be appointed by the directors following the Annual Meeting of Members for a two-year term. The President shall be responsible for the general management and supervision of the affairs and operations and for implementing the strategic plans and policies of the Association.
The President shall review KBLA activities and shall oversee all official correspondence and communications to the members.
Responsibilities
- To preside at all meetings of the directors and the Annual Meeting of members.
- To manage and supervise the affairs and operations of the Association and to ensure that the goals of the KBLA are being met through periodic evaluation and ongoing research.
- To report to the membership.
- To be the official spokesperson for the KBLA. All official correspondence and communication to the membership shall be reviewed by the President.
- Ensure meetings are effective and efficient for the performance of governance work.
- To act as the KBLA Privacy Officer by the Personal Information and Electronic Documents Act (January 1, 2004) and be a resource for the directors regarding the KBLA Privacy Policy.
- To be an active member of the Town and District Liaison Committee.
- The President will ensure KBLA representation at appropriate workshops and will respond to initiatives such as surveys by FOCA and other relevant organizations to gather information and speak on behalf of the KBLA.
- Review the PIPEDA procedures yearly to ensure compliance with the legislation.
